At 11PM, I fall open on the floor
And the owls listen in from behind my door
At 11PM, the silence filled the floor
And I heard it seeping through my bones
A pulse I'd never known before

Would you say that the world stops dead
When we forget to close our eyes?
Would you say that time still treads on,
Wrapping ribbons around my lie?

The shadows said to look and see
There's nothing left inside of me
The clouds of dust coated my teeth
I swallow it eternally
The stars told me that I was free
And whited out my empathy
I looked through all the pity
And I know it's still 11PM

At 11PM, there were whispers in the floor
Full of words that don't matter anymore
At 11PM, there was knocking on the door
And I knew I was never really home

It twisted throughout my bloodstream
Spreading nitrogen throughout my body
It sewed into my skin something
Only I could ever read
It scrambled my anatomy
And filtered out my memory
It cut away all of the strings
That gave me any sort of meaning
It filled the spaces with lilies
To try to hide it was empty
It bled into this entropy
This nullified catastrophe
It tore white feathers off of wings
But they were only fantasy
It lied to me, it lied to me,
Lied that I'd ever been breathing

Would you say that the world stops dead
